President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday reacted to the death of one Kolade Johnson.
Nigeria Politics Online reports that Kolade, a footbal fan, was alleged gunned down while watching a Premier League fixture between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in Lagos on Sunday by a member of a police team.
However, President Buhari expressed sadness over the killling while assuring that the perpetrators will be brought to book.
Speaking on the development, Buhari on his verified Twitter handle wrote: “Deepest condolences to the family and friends of Kolade Johnson, victim of the March 31 fatal shooting in Lagos.
“Police have assured that the Team suspected of involvement in the shooting have been apprehended and are undergoing disciplinary procedure. Updates will be provided.”
However, Johnson’s death has been greeted with widespread criticisms, with a renewed call on the Federal Government to end the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) unit of the police.
