During the Soundcity MVP awards at Eko Hotels in Lagos last friday, Nigerian rapper M.I. Abaga urged his fellow rappers to “pick up their pens and start writing”.
The statement obviously did not go down well with fellow rapper CDQ, as he slammed M.I.
He wrote in Yoruba language;
“Egbon e lo joko jur. Film ni gbogbo eleyi ten act yi. Nothing like Naija Hiphop. Hiphop is Hiphop…. a wan pawo eyin pariwo”.
“Bros, go and sit down. You’re just acting for the camera. There’s nothing like Naija hiphop.. Hiphop is Hiphop. We are making money, you’re making noise..”
