Access Bank Responds To Customers After Strange Debit Alerts

Access Bank Nigeria has responded to their Customers after they complained of “strange” debit alerts from the Bank.

Many bank customers had taken to the social media to lament after their accounts was debited unfairly but the Customer Care section of the bank in its wisdom responded to their complaints.

Below are some of the complaints as captured on social media:

“I don’t understand the debits made by access bank on customers accounts in the name of stamp duty more than once. What exactly is going on?”

In response, the bank replied by explaining that “The statutory stamp duty charge on deposits and electronic transfers in accordance with the Finance Act, N50 will be charged on all electronic transfers and cash deposits of N10,000 and above into accounts as long as the transfer or deposit is made by a third party.”

Another Customer who wanted to know what the stamp duty was asked; “Access Bank, what is portal stamp duty, cos I got charge for this, wanna know?

In response, the Bank replied; “we appreciate your concerns. The statutory stamp duty charge on deposits and electronic transfers in accordance with the Finance Act,Β N50 will be charged on all electronic transfers and cash deposits of N10,000 and above into accounts as long as the transfer or deposit is made by a third party .”
